Sr. Linux/Network Analyst

Summary: This position is responsible for hands-on delivery of Unix/Linux and Network infrastructure implementation and administration. Technical Requirements: Perl, C, Linux, UNIX, Red Hat, Scripting, SAN, Apache Essential Functions: Manage and operate a large cluster Work with users to get jobs running and application installed; troubleshoot issues Work with vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner Install new hardware and systems software, upgrades User account administration Helping analyze problems by analyzing logs etc. HPC knowledge (queue management, mpi, system-imager, nagios etc.) NIS & NFS administration Apache administration Firewall administration Experience Qualifications: 5 to 10 years supporting Linux server environments; understand Linux administration Solid Linux and network (DHCP, DNS etc.) configuration and troubleshooting skills Solid experience building kernels, applying patches and troubleshooting start-up issues Install software and patches from RPMs or source code Solid knowledge of TCP/IP configuration, network topology, sub-net masking, routing Able to script (shell, bash) Create backup scripts and verify Basic understanding SANS & Fiber Channel/Infiniband Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related to IT CCNA or Certifications are a plus Skills demonstrated by: Efficient administration, coordination and tracking of systems development projects Effective application of software knowledge in support of the operation of internal company and clients information systems Timely response to internal employee and department information processing needs Types of problems solved and decision making: Resolution of operating problems experienced by application system users Troubleshooting of systems-based problems Makes decisions regarding the most cost and time effective approach to the resolution of application systems issues.
