Sr. VMware Administrator

Responsibilities • Deploy and maintain complex VMware environments • Work with customers/vendors on configuration of features and functionality • Train and mentor Jr. administrators in best practices and internal processes • Assist with change management and documentation of environments • Work with dedicated team to ensure success of select customer group • Ensure customer uptime through precise monitoring implementations, good change management and incorporation of best practices Requirements • Minimum 3 past years of VMware design, implementation, and support • Minimum 5 years of Windows and Linux system administration and architecture design (expert on one platform and competent on the other) • Understanding of Windows application environments o Configuration and troubleshooting of Window’s platform technologies IIS, MS SQL, AD, .NET o Clustering and high-availability environments o Backup and disaster recovery best practices • Understanding of Linux application environments o Configuration and troubleshooting of Linux’s platform technologies Apache, MySQL, LDAP, J2EE o Clustering and high-availability environments o Backup and disaster recovery best practices • Excellent customer services skills • Excellent written and verbal communications skills • Experience in hosting company or technology call center a plus • Bachelor’s degree in computer science desired • Strong understanding VMware technologies and supporting frameworks • Ability to motivate themselves and their team to do what is right by the customer
