Senior Business Analyst (Software)

Description
The Senior Business Analyst is the liaison between business groups and development groups. BAs analyze users business needs and work with developers to design effective automation solutions within project constraints. Responsibilities: Write business requirements, use cases, and functional requirements for new applications or modifications to existing applications. Participate in seminars, travel to client sites, and meet with user group meetings to understand user requirements. Plan and facilitate user design sessions. Document questions and responses from customer interviews. Write test plans, acceptance criteria, and acceptance test cases. Present results of all analysis and deliverables to project teams to facilitate knowledge transfer. Work with the development team to meet project requirements and specifications within project constraints. Document decisions made at each design meeting and the reason for the decision. Provide impact analysis for enhancements or design changes added throughout the development life cycle. Maintain project documents throughout the development life cycle. Participate in project team reviews to review test cases, documentation, and other specifications throughout the development phase to insure all project team members understand and implement functional requirements and user interface plans as intended. If QA resources are not employed for the product line, provide black box testing by evaluating the constructed product against the functional requirements and use cases to insure the product meets the stated acceptance criteria. Evaluate the functionality of company products and competing products. Determine project priorities and manage tasks accordingly. Provide a detailed work breakdown structure with precise estimates for each task. Provide regular status reports to supervisor and project management, updating tasks and tasks estimates, as necessary. All duties or special projects as assigned by supervisor. Present good image of department and company to customers, clients, and staff. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and competitor products. Adhere to product design methodologies. Necessary Job Requirements: Strong organization and project/task management skills Strong written and oral communication skills Demonstrated ability to develop business process models Demonstrated ability to elicit and document functional requirements to design software applications Proficiency with MS Office, Windows, and other Microsoft products College degree in Business or Systems related fields or equivalent experience 4 years experience as a business analyst, meeting with users, designing applications and writing specifications for client server applications.
