Become a Nursing Instructor
It is the responsibility of the teaching faculty to provide the learning activities and support that will lead to the achievement of the course and program objectives and contribute to the educational environment of the college and the community. The faculty member?s role encompasses the general areas of learning facilitation, personal and professional development, and institutional and community service. Primary responsibilities are to plan, develop, and teach courses within the curriculum in a manner that facilitates student learning. Additionally, faculty are expected to engage in scholarly activity in at least one of the following areas: Scholarship of Teaching, Scholarship of Discovery, Scholarship of Intergration, or the Scholarship of Practice. The successful candidate will also be expected to work closely with the Director of Nursing, in a distinct and recognized support capacity, to achieve the goals for all nursing programs.
Required: Registered Nurse with current license in Texas, and graduate of an approved School of Nursing; MSN as required by state regulations; Experience which demonstrates abilities in nursing practice; Maintain Basic Life Support Certification for Health Care Workers; Ability to mentor nursing students in the didactic, lab and clinical settings; Ability to work independently without close supervision; Broad knowledge of the nursing sciences; Administrative or supervisory experience and an abiding interest in educational leadership functions and opportunities
