Executive Compensation Specialist - Houston

Position: Executive Compensation
Location: Houston
SUMMARY
Responsible for designing, recommending and implementing compensation programs, policies and procedures to support the company's desired position in the market. Provides guidance and assistance to all locations on various compensation policy interpretation, questions and issues. Develops, recommends, and implements new or modified plans and compensation policies based on competitive and company considerations.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Stays abreast of laws and regulations applicable to Company compensation programs and ensures that these programs and related policies comply with such legal requirements.
2. Develops specifications for new plans or modification of existing plans to ensure company's competitive position in the labor market.
3. Recommends new plans and program changes including preparation of announcement materials or other media for communicating new or revised plans. May conduct compensation management seminars for local personnel as needed.
4. Supervises the preparation of competitive salary surveys ensuring the proper matching and reporting of all elements of compensation.
5. Ensures that existing and new compensation programs are adaptable to standardized computer and SAP reporting systems (merit planning – Success Factors). This may involve the global coordination of the creation of a new wage type, for instance.
6. Provides data to support the preparation of materials for the quarterly Compensation Committee meetings as well as the annual proxy statement.
7. Provides support to the Compensation Department on the Company's equity programs and specifically coordinates the solicitation of election forms for the annual RSU program.
8. Develop and maintain a globally consistent means by which to evaluate and structure labor grades.
9. Develop and maintain competitive salary structures in each country Cameron operates.
NATURE AND SCOPE
This position reports to the Director Compensation and is an important resource globally for evaluating new jobs, maintaining benchmarks and ensuring that the tools are available to support a robust, globally competitive compensation program. This individual will also work closely with local HR management in supporting compensation plans and programs and resolving issues.
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE
The successful incumbent should possess a degree in a related field and at least seven years experience with a large employer in compensation management. Executive compensation and equity administration experience is important. This provides requires strong communication and analytical skills. The incumbent must be well organized with the ability to exercise good judgment. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and SAP is imperative.
