ESL Instructors for Refugee Students

The Bilingual Education Institute focuses on effective communication and assists students in achieving fluency. We have been serving students and the Houston community for 26 years. Our institute is accredited by ACCET and upholds the educational standards mandated by the U.S. Department of Education. We are looking for motivated, compassionate, and focused individuals with ESL experience to join our faculty to teach in our Refugee Department as ESL Instructors for Refugees. The curriculum has a strong focus on survival ESL and practical application for everyday English. Candidates familiar with diverse and multicultural classrooms preferred. Also, prior training in Literacy is a plus. This position is ideal for a candidate already involved with or interested in becoming involved with Refugee Resettlement, Education, and Immigration. Job Title: ESL Instructor Department: Refugee Department Reports To: Refugee Lead Instructor Education and Requirements: B.A. from an accredited US college/university. A B.A. in education or a related field is preferred. International degrees will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. A minimum of 1-2 years teaching experience is required. Other requirements: Instructors must interview with our Academic and Refugee Coordinators and score 70% or above on the written evaluation. Availability in the afternoons and evenings.
