Research Assistant

Part Time Summer Research Position Opportunity at the UT-Medical School An opportunity to work at the medical school studying the genetics of a devastating autoimmune disease. It will involve analyzing genetic mutation data in the largest study of its kind for this disease. Job: • Prepare reports that summarize the analysis of genetic research data for publications in scientific journals • Perform a variety of statistical analysis (including but not limited to association studies, regression models, survival analysis, multivariate analysis, etc.) for large research data sets (will be trained) • Other tasks as assigned Skills required: • Excellent analytical and computation skills • Exceptional attention to detail • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills • Basic knowledge of molecular genetics and basic statistics • Basic knowledge of platforms used for large scale genetic or epidemiological genotyping studies Part time Position: 15‐19 hrs/week Salary: Hourly competitive rates commensurate with experience For Applying or Questions: Email Resume to pravitt.gourh@uth.tmc.edu
