Summer Public Relations Intern - Griffin Integrated Marketing
The Intern is responsible for assisting account team members in executing creative marketing
communications programs for agency clients, as well as providing back-up administrative
support.
Provides assistance in executing assigned client marketing campaigns. Tasks include, but
are not limited to, the following:
o Drafting/distributing press materials, including news releases, calendar listings and
media alerts
o Compiling/qualifying media lists
o Collecting/copying/scanning publicity clips; assessing media value
o Performing research; presenting findings
o Coordinating event logistics; assisting with on-site execution
o Other tasks as assigned by account manager
Participates in administrative functions of the company, as shared by all personnel,
including: answering phones, staff meetings, office support
Qualifications:
Education/Experience – Either bachelor’s degree in public relations or communications or
candidate is in final 1-2 years of undergraduate studies in either of these fields; candidate
must have work portfolio (i.e. writing samples, school marketing campaigns, etc.)
Skills –
o Computer – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
o Marketing – general knowledge of basic communications tools used to support
marketing communications and branding campaigns (i.e. media relations,
advertising, collateral, events, Internet, grass-roots, etc.); general knowledge of
social media outlets; writing
Capabilities – multi-tasking, performing under tight deadlines, attention to detail, organized,
can listen to and take direction/constructive criticism
Personality Traits – persistent, optimistic, service-oriented, can-do attitude, initiative, honest,
responsible
